Charlotte Cook was 19 when her body was found near Thornton Beach in Daly City, California, on January 4, 1974. Her body was discovered behind a ranger station; she had been strangled to death.
Cook had testified as a witness in an Alameda County robbery case just one day before she was killed, and that timing has led investigators to consider whether her murder was connected to her courtroom involvement. Despite ongoing investigative efforts, the killing remains unsolved and is one of Daly City’s better known cold cases.
Anyone with information that could help bring Charlotte Cook’s killer to justice is asked to come forward.
