Thomas Onezine was 44 when he was shot and killed in Houston just after midnight on May 15, 2013. The shooting took place in the 7000 block of Marilyn Street after an armed suspect confronted Onezine and another man, Maurice Brooks, and demanded money. The victims tried to flee and the suspect opened fire, fatally wounding Onezine in the head; Brooks was shot multiple times but survived and reported that an unknown person had pointed a gun at them before the demand for money.

Multiple witnesses said a red SUV was seen in the area around the time of the shooting; the vehicle reportedly had two males inside. No arrests have been made and the case remains unsolved. Crime Stoppers of Houston has offered up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to identification or arrest, and the Houston Police Department is asking anyone with tips to contact Crime Stoppers’ hotline.

Did anyone in the area see that red SUV or recognize the two men who were inside?
