Ashley Ash Rowell, 35, was fatally shot at about 7:45 p.m. on February 1, 2013, after answering a knock at his front door in the Montrose neighborhood of Houston. The bullet pierced his chest and he collapsed in the family room; his wife Lesli, their three children and two visiting children were in the house and some of the children may have seen him after he was shot. Witnesses reported a dark-colored sedan fleeing the scene immediately afterward.
Investigators found no signs of robbery or forced entry and believe the attack was targeted. Ashley was a well-known figure in Houston’s craft beer community, former owner of Duff Beer Distribution and part of a family that owned Noble Union Imports. Police say they followed leads including possible business conflicts and disputes involving Lesli’s brothers, but no one has been charged and the case remains unsolved; Lesli offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to a conviction.
Does anyone have information about that night or recall seeing a dark-colored sedan near Ashley’s home in Montrose on February 1, 2013?
