On the evening of November 28, 2010, 34-year-old Jose Reyes was fatally shot while driving his red Ford Ranger on Grissom Road near Misty Way in San Antonio, Texas. He was accompanied by his wife, Christina Rivera, and their two young daughters; another vehicle pulled alongside and opened fire. Reyes was struck six times and died at the scene. Rivera suffered two gunshot wounds but survived, and the children were physically unharmed.
The family had been on their way to a grocery store for snacks and drinks for the children. Rivera said the attack unfolded so quickly she could not identify the shooters and believed it was a case of mistaken identity, noting Reyes had no known enemies. The family and Crime Stoppers offered rewards—initially $15,000 total and later increased to $20,000—to encourage tips. The San Antonio Police Department asked the public to contact Crime Stoppers at 224-STOP with information.
Does anyone who lived near Grissom Road in late 2010 remember unusual activity or see a vehicle that might be tied to this shooting?
