Chansey Jolivette was shot and killed on the night of September 4, 2009. Houston police officers found the 20-year-old African American male lifeless at about 11:50 p.m. at 3223 South Loop West; he was pronounced dead at the scene from a gunshot wound.

The Houston Police Department Homicide Division, led by Senior Police Officers D. Arnold and R. Chappell, opened an investigation. Initial reports did not disclose suspects or a motive, and there have been no public updates reporting arrests or identified suspects. The case remains unsolved.
