Ernest Hall was 53 when he was murdered in Houston, Texas, on November 20, 2008. Houston Police Department homicide investigators determined the circumstances pointed to foul play and treated the death as a homicide. Officers found evidence at the scene indicating the incident was not accidental. Limited evidence and a lack of witness cooperation hampered the initial investigation, and the case later became part of the backlog assigned to the Homicide Division’s Cold Case Squad.
The Cold Case Squad has reviewed Hall’s file as part of its broader effort to re-examine unsolved homicides, re-interview witnesses, and analyze existing forensic evidence with updated technology. The squad also works with other agencies for additional resources. Community tips to Crime Stoppers in Houston are being encouraged as authorities seek new leads.
If anyone knew Ernest Hall or has information about his death, please contact Houston Crime Stoppers or the Homicide Division.
