Uriel Bastida was 24 when he was fatally shot in the early morning hours of January 6, 2008, near the 5000 block of Ennis Street in Houston. He was approached by an unknown assailant who fired multiple shots and then fled; emergency responders arrived but Bastida died at the scene. The Houston Police Department opened an investigation and asked the public for information to identify the shooter.
