John Michael Myatt, 43, of Mountain Home, Texas, was found dead on June 15, 1994, near the intersection of County Road 254 and County Road 255, near Georgetown in Williamson County. A civilian discovered the body and notified law enforcement. Because of the condition of the remains, authorities could not determine an exact cause of death; the death was nevertheless classified as a homicide.
Myatt apparently had traveled a considerable distance from his home, and investigators found no clear reason for him to be in that rural area. Detectives conducted multiple interviews and followed leads as far away as Dallas, and the Williamson County Sheriff’s Cold Case Unit has continued work on the file as resources allow. Evidence collected to date has not produced conclusive results, and no suspects or motives have been identified.
Does anyone have information about Myatt’s movements in June 1994 or recall seeing him in Williamson County around that time?
