Kenneth Jerome, a 33-year-old Caucasian farmhand, was shot dead on July 7, 2005, while feeding calves at Magnan Farm in Sheldon, Vermont. His body was found shortly after noon behind a barn on the East Sheldon Road property. An autopsy showed a single gunshot wound to the chest fired from a distance, and the Vermont State Police concluded his death was a homicide.

In the days before the killing Jerome told a friend, an attorney, that someone had tried to run him off the road and made a hand gesture shaped like a gun. Community suspicion later focused on Dennis Harness, the ex-husband of Jerome’s then-girlfriend Jennifer Miller, in part because Harness had a history that included arson convictions and known animosity with Jerome. No arrest has been made in Kenneth Jerome’s murder.

Anyone with memories from East Sheldon in 2005 or information about threats Jerome reported is asked to come forward.
