Thomas J. Hilton was 55 when his body was discovered inside his mobile home in the Colonial Run Trailer Park in Virginia Beach on Monday, July 22, 1991. Friends had last seen him two days earlier, on Saturday, July 20, at about 5:00 pm.

Investigators found signs of a violent struggle at the residence. An autopsy determined Hilton had been beaten to death and the death was ruled a homicide. Despite those findings, no arrests have been announced and no suspects have been publicly identified. The case remains open in the Virginia Beach Police Department files.
