Bandar Alfisal was found unconscious on the floor of a hotel room in Arlington, Virginia, on November 2, 1986. Neighbors in the adjoining room later reported hearing what sounded like a struggle at about 5:00 a.m. An autopsy determined the cause of death was strangulation, reclassifying the incident as a homicide.
Reports from the time noted that the death attracted attention and speculation, with at least one wire-service account describing the victim as a Saudi Arabian prince. Police continue to call the case solvable and ask anyone with information to contact the Arlington County Police Department tip line at 703-228-4242.
If anyone knew Bandar Alfisal or has information about the early-morning disturbance in that hotel, please come forward to the Arlington County Police Department.
