Lisa Ann Jolley was 20 when she was found dead in her Virginia Beach apartment on Friday, January 25, 1985. Her husband, an active-duty U.S. Navy enlisted man, saw her alive that morning as she slept in their home in the 5600 block of Barnaby Court and left for work. He returned about 5:00 p.m. and discovered her submerged and fully clothed in a bathtub filled with water. Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene.

The State Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death to be asphyxiation, and the death was ruled a homicide. Investigators reported no apparent signs of forced entry into the apartment. No arrests have been announced, and the Virginia Beach Police Department lists the case as unsolved.
