Dante M. Quezaire Jr. was a 21-year-old Milwaukee native who was brought to a Milwaukee-area hospital with a serious gunshot wound at about 11:40 a.m. on September 1, 2017. He survived initially but died the next day; some reports and his obituary list September 2 as his date of death. Investigators faced an immediate complication: Quezaire had been dropped off at the hospital and police did not know where the shooting had occurred, so there was no identified crime scene from which to collect physical evidence or locate witnesses.
Police said they were seeking a motive and searching for suspect or suspects, but reporting names no companion, no person who transported him to the hospital, and does not say whether the shooting location was ever established. Quezaire was remembered as someone who attended Riverside High School, enjoyed playing football and watching Green Bay Packers games with his father Dante Quezaire Sr., and was survived by his mother LaQuita Quezaire, siblings, and extended family. Funeral services were held September 19, 2017, at Assembly of God Central on West Burleigh Street in Milwaukee. Does anyone have information about where Dante was shot or who brought him to the hospital?
