Talya Henry, a 27-year-old Black woman, was found dead in Milwaukee the evening of September 10, 2016. Police were called to North 1st Street and West Keefe Avenue at about 5:40 p.m. and later reported her body inside a garage in the 3400 block of North 1st Street. Investigators described head injuries and noted her body had been burned, details that led detectives to treat the death as a homicide.
Henry’s vehicle was later located abandoned and unoccupied in the 3300 block of North 10th Street, several blocks from the garage. Officials have not disclosed who moved or left the car, when it was abandoned, or whether the vehicle yielded evidence identifying a suspect. Early reports named no suspect, and the case was later assigned to the Milwaukee Police Department’s Cold Case Homicide Unit.
If anyone knew Talya Henry, saw her that day, or has information about the garage on North 1st or the abandoned vehicle on North 10th, please share what is known with investigators.
