A winter morning walk on January 5, 2006, in Westminster, Colorado, led to a grim discovery at the southeast corner of 70th Avenue and Federal Boulevard: a man found under a blanket in a vacant field was actually deceased from a severe beating. The victim was identified as 55-year-old Charles ’Charlie’ Douglas Sharpe, a man of no fixed address who often sheltered in open, undeveloped spaces nearby.

Sharpe was last seen alive on January 2, 2006, in the same general area. He was known to spend time with other homeless individuals, to frequent bars around 72nd Avenue in Adams County, and to take temporary day-labor work. Westminster Police ruled his death a homicide, but despite an investigation the case later went cold and no arrests or public suspect identifications have been announced.

Does anyone who knew Charles or who frequented that part of Westminster in early January 2006 have information that could help solve this case?
