John Robert Miller, a 56-year-old white man, was found lying in the 4200 block of US 287 in Loveland, Colorado, on August 15, 2003. Investigators determined he had been struck from behind by a northbound vehicle and died of his injuries; the driver then fled the scene, and the case was classified as a hit and run homicide.
The Loveland Police Department’s investigation identified no suspects, and the matter went cold despite efforts to find the vehicle and its driver. The case remains open and unsolved, and Miller’s family continued to seek answers about who struck him and why.
If anyone remembers seeing a vehicle or incident on northbound US 287 near the 4200 block on August 15, 2003, or has information that could help, please contact the Loveland Police Department.
