Sidell Alstan Erskine was 35 when he was found fatally stabbed inside a Fairfield residence on the afternoon of October 3, 2019. Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home in the 300 block of 52nd Street and discovered Erskine with fatal stab wounds.

Investigators identified a suspect at the scene. Authorities say the stabbing occurred during an altercation between Erskine and his girlfriend, 28-year-old Jammie Hughes. Hughes was arrested, charged with murder, and booked into the Jefferson County Jail with bond set at $100,000.
