Late on August 24, 2020, a domestic dispute at a residence on County Road 1101 in the Battleground area of Cullman County, Alabama, ended with 23-year-old Tazz Michael Wynn suffering a fatal gunshot wound. Responding officers found Wynn at the scene; an acquaintance, 22-year-old Christian Alexander Shane Lewter of Vinemont, was detained and the case was referred to the district attorney.

A Cullman County grand jury returned an indictment in June 2021 charging Lewter with reckless murder, alleging Wynn was shot three times in the chest in circumstances showing extreme indifference to human life. Lewter was taken into custody and held on a $50,000 cash bond.

Wynn, born November 21, 1996, was remembered as kind and caring, a former West Point High School football player who wore number 19 and enjoyed hunting. Funeral services were held August 29, 2020, and he is survived by his parents, Gregory and Shelly Wynn, and his brother, Iszick Wynn.

Does anyone have information about the events that night or about Tazz’s life in the Battleground community?
