Amos Brown Jr. was 18 when he was shot on August 13, 2010, in Norwalk, Connecticut. Witnesses reported a silver sedan pursuing the black Honda he was driving near Lexington and Olean Streets; a tall, thin Black man in a red shirt allegedly exited the sedan, fired multiple rounds into Brown’s vehicle, then fled on foot after changing into a white shirt. Brown’s car rolled down a hill and crashed into a small grocery; he was found with a gunshot wound to the head, taken to a hospital, and died two days later after life support was withdrawn.
Police believed the killing was retaliation linked to a 2008 stabbing death. Brown had been tried and acquitted in that case on self-defense grounds; the victim, Tykwan Hunt, was identified as a member of the Money Green Mobb. The getaway car was reported stolen and described as a silver 2010 Chevrolet Malibu with New Hampshire plates; suspects were described as three Black males in their teens or early 20s. A $50,000 reward was offered, but no arrests have been announced and the murder remains unsolved. Brown’s father has since advocated against gang and gun violence while seeking justice.
