Abigail Bernstein and her two young sons, Eliav and Kush, disappeared from Honolulu, Hawaii, in October 2022 after being seen at the Ala Wai Boat Harbor boarding a vessel with a man Abigail had met online. The outing was described as the start of a planned year-long sea journey; the family never returned and were later reported missing. The boat’s captain was reportedly seen coming back to the harbor alone, and one account says he claimed the family left because they were seasick.
Abigail had been living a nomadic, off-the-grid lifestyle, had cut ties with her family, discontinued her cell phone service, and her sons were not enrolled in school. The FBI’s Honolulu field office is handling the case, has issued a public plea for information, and is offering up to a $10,000 reward for details that lead to the children’s safe recovery. Authorities say they have no evidence of foul play but have not ruled it out.
Did anyone in Hawaii or those who traveled along the islands see Abigail, Eliav, or Kush after October 2022, or know the identity of the person they planned to sail with?
