Terrence Knott Jr. was 37 when he was shot and killed in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on Saturday, January 14, 2023. Police responded around noon to the Sun Valley Apartments on 36th Avenue and found Knott deceased at the scene from gunshot wounds.

Investigators say a domestic altercation earlier that day between Knott and a woman preceded the fatal encounter. Later, 28-year-old Dondre Joseph confronted Knott; the confrontation escalated and resulted in Knott’s shooting. Joseph was identified as the suspect and arrested the same day and charged with one count of murder.

Anyone who witnessed events at Sun Valley Apartments that day or has information about the altercation or the shooting is asked to come forward.
