Khilye Hamadani, 21, traveled from North Carolina to Oahu and arrived at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu on June 2, 2025. Records show she last communicated with family around 4 p.m. that day. She had left some personal items behind in North Carolina before the trip, and concern grew when belongings were later found along the Portlock shoreline.
The morning after she was last heard from, responders traced her cell phone to the Spitting Cave area and her bag was recovered at China Walls. A Coast Guard crew found two white platform sneakers about 1.7 miles off Waiʻalae Beach Park that matched the description of the shoes she was believed to be wearing. A multi-agency search covered roughly 1,200 square miles with over 100 combined hours using a Response Boat-Medium, an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter, an HC-130 airplane, and the Cutter Joseph Gerczak before the active search was suspended.
Khilye was described as Asian and Hispanic or Latino, five feet tall, about 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. If anyone in Hawaii saw Khilye, her belongings, or anything unusual along the Portlock–Spitting Cave–China Walls area around June 2–3, please come forward with information.
