Andrue Trent Hires disappeared after a police pursuit in southern Georgia on July 18, 2022. According to reports, the 23-year-old fled a traffic stop in Grady County, stopped his 2013 Nissan Altima on the Barnetts Creek Bridge on U.S. Highway 84 at the Grady–Thomas county line, left his vehicle and cellphone behind, and jumped from the bridge. An immediate search found no sign of him.

Thomas and Grady County investigators and specialized teams, including the Georgia Body Recovery Team with K-9 units, conducted repeated ground and aerial searches but turned up no evidence. In August 2022 Trent’s father and brother, Anthony Tony Hires and Anthony Seth Hires II, murdered a man they believed responsible; they were later convicted and sentenced. In early February 2026 two people found suspected human skeletal remains on property near Barnett’s Creek. Law enforcement recovered the remains and sent them for laboratory identification; investigators said the location made it likely the remains were Trent’s but awaited confirmation.

If anyone knew Trent’s movements in July 2022 or observed activity on or near Barnetts Creek around that time, please come forward with information.
