On the night of August 30, 2024, 20-year-old Ronald Demetrius Dixon Jr. was one of three men shot dead at a gas station on Fourth Avenue North in Bessemer, Alabama. Christopher Dajuan Eddins, 25, and Wesley Fowler Jr., 40, also died at the scene after assailants opened fire from a vehicle and then pursued victims inside the convenience store. Investigators said at least one of the victims appeared to have been specifically targeted.

Within days authorities announced arrests in the case: 20-year-old Raukeem Cunningham was charged with capital murder and another man, Willie Stokes III, was taken into custody. Law enforcement also said they believed at least one additional shooter remained at large. A vigil for the three victims was later interrupted by gunfire, leaving four people wounded.

Anyone who was at the gas station that night or who knows anything about the shootings is asked to come forward with information.
