Johnny Adelberto Encarnacion, 49, known as Kountry, was last seen November 15, 2021, at the Bassin Triangle Apartments in Christiansted, St. Croix. Family reported him missing after he failed to contact his mother and brothers; investigators say he did not have mental health issues and was described as family-oriented. His disappearance was reclassified as a homicide in December 2021 based on biological evidence and investigative findings.
Encarnacion is described as a Hispanic male, brown complexion, 5 feet 10 inches, about 160 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes, a goatee, facial and nose scars, distinctive chest and shoulder tattoos, and a gold rope chain with a pendant. He was last known to be driving an off-black Dodge pickup truck (black Dakota in some reports) with a missing right passenger mirror, a missing right rear taillight, and a dent from the left taillight to the left rear wheel well. He frequented the Alphonso Piggy Gerard Complex, D. Hamilton Jackson Terrace, downtown Christiansted, and Estate Peter’s Rest.
Police conducted extensive searches, including the south shore of St. Croix, and asked the public for surveillance footage of the route from Peter’s Rest to Frederiksted, where his vehicle was located. No public announcement has been made tying any named individual to his death. Did anyone in St. Croix see Encarnacion, his pickup, or have information about his movements around November 15, 2021?
