Lisa Futrell, a 41-year-old White woman, disappeared after leaving her job at an Anchorage nightclub on the night of September 6, 1980, and failed to return to her home in Palmer. Housemates reported her missing when she did not come back after her shift. Online memorial records list her as having been lost to gun violence on that date in Palmer.

Investigators later linked her disappearance and death to Robert Butcher Baker Hansen. After Hansen’s October 1983 arrest, he led authorities to multiple burial sites in the Knik River area. On May 9, 1984, search teams recovered Futrell’s remains near service roads and gravel pits off the Old Glenn Highway, in the vicinity of the old Knik River/Arm bridge area south of the former Knik Arm Bridge. Hansen pleaded guilty in 1984 to multiple murders and received a 461-year sentence without possibility of parole; investigators include Futrell among the women he abducted and killed.
