Trayvon Deshawn Harris, 37, was fatally shot in Triana, Alabama, on the evening of October 21, 2024. Officers found him about 8:10 p.m. in the 100 block of Murphy Lane with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. He was taken to Huntsville Hospital but died shortly after arrival.

Neighbors reported hearing the shots and Harris’s screams; security camera footage from a nearby residence recorded the screams and showed a truck speeding away. Madison County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes detectives and Crime Scene Investigation units responded to the scene.

Authorities identified a suspect, Martavious Jamaal Williams, and court documents allege Williams shot Harris from a 2002 Chevy Silverado. Williams, already in custody on other matters, was charged with Capital Murder–Fired from a Moving Vehicle and is being held without bond in the Madison County Jail. The community is awaiting further developments.
