Tigist Hailu was 32 when she was last seen in Mission Viejo, California on July 2, 2001. Employed as a nanny by a visiting family from the United Arab Emirates, she had traveled to the U.S. to care for their children. The family returned shortly after midnight to find the children unattended and Hailu gone; her purse and some money were missing.

Employers told investigators she had said she wanted to remain in the United States, prompting a theory she left voluntarily to avoid returning to the UAE. She is described as a Black female, 5 feet tall, 150 pounds, with brown hair.

Did anyone see Tigist after that night or know where she might have gone?
