Terrell Powell, a 33-year-old Black man, was found shot and killed inside his home on Parakeet Drive in Greensboro, Alabama, on the morning of Monday, May 15, 2023. Several bullets had been fired into the residence from outside, and investigators treated the incident as a homicide. His family, who had seen him during a Mother’s Day weekend gathering, remembered him as the life of the party and said his sudden death left them devastated.

Greensboro police said the shooting may have involved mistaken identity, noting another person with a similar name lived in the same mobile home park. As of May 2023, no arrests had been made and the case remained unsolved. If anyone knew Terrell, his movements that weekend, or saw anything near Parakeet Drive on the morning of May 15, any information could help investigators.
