A dispute between two groups on Highway 14 in Millbrook, Alabama, turned deadly on the evening of March 22, 2023. Williams of Montgomery and two other juveniles. The victim’s vehicle was pursued until it became disabled in the 4100 block of Highway 14 near a local business. Millbrook police arrived to find the car riddled with bullets and Williams unresponsive with an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics rendered aid but Williams was pronounced deceased. Another juvenile in the vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries from shattered glass and was taken to a local hospital.

Millbrook Police Department detectives canvassed the area, located and impounded the suspected vehicle, and said the shooting stemmed from a prior and ongoing conflict between the two groups. On March 23, 2023, after consultation with the Elmore County District Attorney’s Office, authorities arrested 18-year-old Mose Abram of Millbrook and charged him with Murder and Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Vehicle; he was held without bond pending formal service of the warrants.
