A dispute in the Aaronville neighborhood of Foley, Alabama, ended in fatal gunfire for 38-year-old Walter Daniel McDonald. On a January day he was shot once in the leg on the 1600 block of South Oak Street. After police responded to reports of gunshots McDonald was found wounded and airlifted to University Hospital, where he underwent surgery and was later moved to the ICU. He died of his injuries the next day, January 16, 2023.

Authorities say the shooting followed an argument between McDonald and the family of Consuela Minor. Daphne resident 49-year-old Consuela Minor was arrested and charged with manslaughter. Investigators describe the probe as ongoing and say further charges or arrests remain possible as they continue to determine what happened.
