Hayden Jewerell Townsend was 16 when he was killed by a gunshot to the head at a residence in the 600 block of Tartan Pines in Enterprise, Alabama, in the late morning of August 2, 2022. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene, and the Enterprise Police Department treated the case as a homicide.
Hayden was a soon-to-be junior at Enterprise High School who enjoyed basketball and football and was remembered by his community as intelligent and well-liked. Investigators later arrested five people in connection with the death: a 14-year-old girl was charged with manslaughter and three other juveniles were charged with obstructing governmental operations; a 64-year-old woman, Dovey Ankram, related to one of the minors and whose home was the shooting location, was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and released on bond pending court proceedings.
Does anyone have information about Hayden, the residence on Tartan Pines, or the events of that day?
