Chi Ari-Hasan McDade, a 22-year-old woman, was shot and killed on July 28, 2022, on Southwest Wall Street in Madison, Alabama. Responding officers found her injured and she was taken to Huntsville Hospital, where she died of the gunshot wound. The shooting followed a domestic dispute.

A 19-year-old ex-boyfriend, Antonio Terrell Burks, was at the scene and was taken into custody by Limestone County deputies; he was charged with murder and booked into the Limestone County Jail held without bond. McDade’s family has since been active in raising awareness about domestic violence, and the case record notes a history of McDade attempting to end the relationship multiple times.
