Brantley Ford, 28, was found dead in the early hours of April 22, 2022, after Tuskegee police discovered a silver Infiniti off the roadway in a grassy area on the 2600 block of West Martin Luther King Highway. Officers found Ford in the driver’s seat with an apparent gunshot wound, and investigators treated the case as a homicide. Local reports identified him as a Montgomery man; funeral notices named him Brantley D. Ford of Montgomery with services held in early May.
Initial accounts described a predawn roadside discovery and said police did not yet have a suspect while they worked the scene and sought public help. Police later characterized the killing as a robbery shooting. On May 4, 2022, WAKA reported that Quentavious Niquel Howard, 25, of Opelika, was arrested and charged with capital murder; authorities accused Howard of shooting into Ford’s car during a robbery on the night of April 22. No other suspects were named in those reports.
If anyone knew Brantley, saw him in Montgomery or Tuskegee around April 22, 2022, or has information about the robbery and shooting, please come forward.
