Ricky Simmons, 42, of Tuskegee, Alabama, was killed in the late evening of March 15, 2022. Police found him outside his vehicle in a residential neighborhood with multiple gunshot wounds; first responders pronounced him dead at the scene and his death was ruled a homicide.
Early investigative work pointed investigators toward a possible personal conflict as a motive. Detectives explored scenarios including an argument or a robbery that turned violent, canvassed the neighborhood for evidence, and interviewed potential witnesses. The person who fired the shots reportedly fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
No arrests have been publicly announced and the case remains an active investigation. If anyone has information about the events of that night or about who fled the scene, contact the local authorities to assist Simmons’s family and the community.
