Yolanda Yvette Baker, 35, was last seen on August 1, 1999, at her home in the 400 block of 44th Street NE in Washington D.C. She had attended a family reunion that night and left around 3:00 a.m. with her boyfriend, Terrance Barnett. Baker was reported missing on August 4, 1999, after she failed to pick up her twin children from the babysitter.

Nearly a week after her disappearance, Baker’s 1999 Toyota Corolla was recovered abandoned with her blood in the trunk and a foul odor noted. Friends and family described a tumultuous seven-year relationship with Barnett, reporting repeated instances of domestic violence and visible bruises. Baker had obtained an eighteen-month restraining order against Barnett that expired shortly before she vanished and was seeking child support for the twins. In the days after she disappeared, Barnett gave conflicting accounts of Yolanda’s whereabouts and did not report her missing.

Yolanda Baker was later declared legally dead; her body has never been found. Does anyone have information about her last known movements or the days after August 1, 1999?
