To not know where your loved one's body is...That is a limbo that is so damaging for a family. I know there was a conviction but he couldn't or wasn't able to tell them where she was. So unfair.

Pamela J. Butler, 47, was last seen in the 5800 block of 4th Street NW in Northwest Washington, D.C., at about 9:48 p.m. on February 12, 2009. Police bulletins described her as 5 feet 3 inches and about 120 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Early reports say she was at home and in contact with her boyfriend, Jose Angel Rodriguez-Cruz, around the time she vanished. Family members later noted the house was not as she left it: bed sheets missing, items out of place, and an upstairs window with raised blinds that would have been unusual for her to leave open.

Her vehicles remained at the residence while personal items including her purse and identification were missing. Surveillance reportedly showed Rodriguez-Cruz coming and going from the home in the days after she disappeared, and two emails were sent from her account the day after she was last seen. In 2017 Rodriguez-Cruz was arrested; court filings and a guilty plea state he strangled Butler, removed her body, and disposed of it. Her remains have not been recovered and the case is treated as a homicide.

Did anyone in the area remember Pamela, her routines, or seeing activity at that home in February 2009?
