Chyna Danielle Crawford, 25, of Washington D.C., was last seen October 23, 2023, in the 1600 block of Good Hope Road Southeast after speaking with her mother and planning to meet that weekend. She never made a planned shopping trip and could not be reached; her phone was later found to be turned off. A family-requested welfare check at her apartment turned up nothing unusual, but Crawford was not there. Her disappearance was reported to the Metropolitan Police Department on October 26, 2023. Her gray 2012 Mercedes Benz CLS550 with temporary Virginia plate 998859V also went missing. The family says she was in daily contact with her mother and had no involvement with drugs; her incarcerated boyfriend is not considered a suspect. In March 2024 Lashawn Tweety Washington, 32, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping, and obstruction of justice; he has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial. Crawford’s body has not been located and foul play is suspected.
