On May 25, 2019, 35-year-old Shawn Bernard Callins was shot multiple times during a home invasion robbery at his apartment on Florida Avenue in Dothan, Alabama, and later died at Southeast Health Emergency Room. Four people forced their way into the residence intending to rob Callins; when he resisted, the intruders opened fire. A woman in the apartment, Kenisha Lashea Lee, six and a half months pregnant, was also shot and critically injured and was airlifted to a Florida hospital after emergency treatment. Lee underwent an emergency C-section; the newborn boy was placed on life support and died shortly afterward.

Dothan police identified and arrested four suspects: Willie Gerome Blackmon, 18, and Kaleb Tyreak Tubbs, 18, both of Dothan, were charged with capital murder and attempted murder for Lee’s shooting. Investigators also arrested 17-year-old Carlos Lindsey of Opp and 21-year-old David Key of Abbeville. After the infant died, all four were charged with murder and were held in the Houston County Jail without bond.

Who in the Dothan area remembers details from that day or has information that could help clarify what happened during the invasion?
