On the evening of February 13, 2019, a shooting in Tuscumbia, Alabama, left 19-year-old Alontae Nalls dead and another 19-year-old, Gavin Cole, fatally wounded. A 911 call about a wrecked vehicle led officers to East 10th Street and South East Street, where Gavin Cole was found in the car with a gunshot wound and later died at a Tupelo, Mississippi hospital. A third man, Reginald Thompson, was also shot and taken to a Birmingham hospital for surgery.
A short distance from the wrecked car, in woods near the Willie Green Recreational Center, investigators found the body of Alontae Nalls. The wrecked vehicle was identified as belonging to Nalls. The motive for the attack has not been disclosed and no public announcement identifying suspects or arrests had been made.
If anyone has information about what happened that night or knew Alontae, Gavin, or Reginald, please come forward with tips.
