Anthony Tony Alberigi, 59, was killed on February 15, 2018, while standing near the entrance of Western Hills Mall in Fairfield, Alabama, where he had worked for years as the longtime manager. An argument between two groups of young men in the mall parking lot escalated into a rapid exchange of gunfire. Alberigi was not described as a participant; he was struck by gunfire and collapsed on the sidewalk, dying as the shooting continued.
Witnesses and police said multiple vehicles were struck in the lot, stray rounds hit cars at a nearby dealership, and suspects fled, opening fire again along Interstate 59/20 near the Arkadelphia Road exit, where a passing motorist was wounded. Authorities reported arresting multiple suspects and recovering weapons; within a day prosecutors charged Ronald Dewayne Weaver and Rahsaan Cepadio Brown with capital murder, and days later Anthony Johnson was also charged with capital murder. Reporting around bail and electronic-monitoring violations noted Brown was briefly a fugitive before U.S. Marshals captured him in June 2019.
What information can anyone provide about Alberigi’s final hours at the mall or about witnesses who were present that afternoon?
