Robert Shane Manley, 47, of Mobile was found shot to death in the Red Creek area of Wilcox County on January 21, 2018, after confronting people he suspected of poaching on property where he held a hunting lease. Manley had reported repeated trespassing and illegal hunting to the local game warden and tried to install a camera to catch the trespassers, but the camera was stolen. He was struck with buckshot in the head and upper torso, managed to reach toward his truck, and was found by a fellow hunter and his stepson; he died at the scene.

The Wilcox County Sheriff’s Office and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency identified a local man, Ronald Price Jr., 37, of the Red Creek community, and arrested him more than two months after the killing on a charge of murder. Ronald Price Sr., 60, was also arrested on charges of hindering prosecution and receiving stolen property. Manley was a Baker High School graduate, longtime AKZO Nobel employee, avid fisherman and hunter, and a devoted Alabama Crimson Tide fan, survived by his wife, two stepsons, his mother, and a sister.

Does anyone who hunted in the Red Creek area or knew Robert Manley have information that could shed more light on what happened that day?
