Michael Eugene Stevens, 46, was shot and killed in Fairfield, Alabama, after a traffic incident that investigators have described as road rage. Police say the sequence began with a car accident between Stevens and another vehicle; the other driver reportedly pursued Stevens and fired into his car. After being shot, Stevens’ vehicle struck two parked cars, and the assailant allegedly drove by and fired additional shots.
Authorities identified a suspect and obtained a capital murder warrant. Thirty-one-year-old Jermaine Curtis Boswell was charged in Stevens’ death; the charge was elevated to capital murder because officers say the fatal shots were fired from a vehicle into another occupied vehicle. Boswell was taken into custody and was to be held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail.
If anyone witnessed the crash, the subsequent pursuit, or has dashcam or surveillance footage from the area that could help, please share what is known with investigators.
