Decarlos McAlpine Jr., 25, was shot and killed in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on the evening of Friday, September 8, 2017. According to investigators, the shooting grew out of a dispute over a drug-related debt. Authorities identified 22-year-old Tuscaloosa resident Kendrell Leavell as the suspect. The Tuscaloosa County Violent Crimes Unit investigated and Leavell was arrested and charged with McAlpine’s murder.
