In early September 2017, Jacksonville, Alabama residents were shocked by a family tragedy discovered during a welfare check. Responding officers found three deceased women inside a home: 43-year-old Jeannie Williamon, her sister Alicia Williamon, 44, and their mother Brenda Williamon, 70. The coroner recorded a single gunshot wound as the cause of death for each woman.
Investigators concluded the incident was a double murder-suicide, with Brenda believed to have fatally shot both daughters and then herself. The family had reportedly been experiencing a shared delusion; Brenda and Jeannie were also facing Circuit Court warrants in Huntsville on stalking charges related to an allegation that a NASA employee was spying on them after they said they had witnessed a UFO. Neighbors recalled hearing gunfire the Sunday night of the incident but did not report it at the time.
The perpetrator’s death led authorities to consider the case closed, leaving the Jacksonville community to grapple with a violent, perplexing loss. If anyone knew Jeannie or the family and has information that might shed light on their final days, please come forward.
