On a December evening in 2016, Suzanne Fleming was aboard a Cessna Citation 525 that vanished from radar shortly after taking off from Cleveland’s Burke Lakefront Airport en route to Columbus. The flight included her husband John Fleming, their sons Jack and Andrew, and family friends Brian and Megan Casey. Debris later recovered from Lake Erie confirmed the aircraft crashed a few miles north of the airport.

Remains of John Fleming, his son Jack, and Brian Casey were recovered. Suzanne Fleming, her son Andrew, and Megan Casey were never found and are presumed lost in the crash. The National Transportation Safety Board attributed the probable cause to pilot spatial disorientation and pilot fatigue.

Suzanne was a Youngstown State University graduate with a degree in social work and an active supporter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Does anyone have memories of Suzanne or the families to share, or information about the flight that night?
