Joyce Ann Brown Good, 65, and her partner Jimmie Ray Lively, 62, were found dead in their Gadsden, Alabama, home on the afternoon of November 2, 2016. Authorities described both deaths as a double homicide after responding to what began as a domestic disturbance that turned fatal.

Investigators quickly focused on a person close to the victims. Joyce’s son, Jeremy James Jerry Brown, was identified as the person of interest; security camera footage from the residence was reported to support investigators’ concerns. Brown was taken into custody, reportedly confessed during questioning, and was arrested and charged with capital murder before being booked into the Etowah County Detention Center.

The community lost two people in a case described as domestic violence that escalated to deadly force. Does anyone have information about the days leading up to November 2, 2016, or knowledge of the family’s situation that could help clarify what happened?
