Roseann Marie Stone Pleasant, 35, vanished from Spokane, Washington, after being last seen on the afternoon of September 29, 1992, at a convenience store at Ash and Nora streets. A mother of four, she had been struggling with drug addiction and sex work and told her brother a week before she disappeared that she feared for her safety and planned to move south with three of her children.
Investigators considered multiple possibilities early on, including the threat of a serial killer active in the area and suspicion focused on her former boyfriend and father of her youngest child, William Brad Jackson. Jackson had a prior arrest for hitting Roseann, was reportedly someone she feared, and declined a polygraph when questioned. In 1999 Jackson was convicted of murdering his nine-year-old daughter Valiree Brianne Jackson after her remains were found following a GPS led search; that conviction prompted investigators to reopen Roseann’s disappearance, and Jackson is the primary suspect in her case, though he has never been charged.
If anyone knew where Roseann lived, worked, or who she spent time with in Spokane in 1992, can you come forward with information?
