Andrea Dawn Myers was 31 when she was shot and killed on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, in Samson, Alabama. She and her two young daughters were visiting neighbors across the street from the Myers family home when a local man, Michael McLendon, arrived and opened fire on the porch. Andrea and her 18-month-old daughter, Corrine Gracy Myers, were among five people killed at that location; an infant daughter, Ella Kay, was wounded and survived, and a son, Isaak, who was inside the family’s home, was unharmed.

Andrea had served as a volunteer firefighter in Kansas and was married to Geneva County Sheriff’s Deputy Joshua Myers. The attack was part of a larger rampage that day in which McLendon killed a total of ten people across two counties before taking his own life. Investigators recovered a list of people McLendon believed had wronged him, but Andrea and her children had no known connection to him.

Anyone who knew Andrea or the family, or who has information about that day, is asked to come forward.
