On the afternoon of August 23, 2024, 35-year-old Sampson Bleh, a Black / African American man, was shot inside an apartment in the 2200 block of 12th Avenue South in south Fargo. Officers found Bleh conscious with gunshot wounds to the chest and right hamstring; EMS transported him to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
Investigators say the shooting was tied to a violent robbery and the theft of more than 300 M30 Fentanyl pills from Bleh. Nearby surveillance video reportedly shows four people arriving at the building minutes before shots were fired; two of them are seen fleeing afterward while two others, identified as Leo Dartoe and Geettoe Kamara, exit the scene. Kamara was arrested and charged with accomplice to murder and later admitted taking pills from Bleh’s pockets after he had been shot but was still alive; that charge was later dropped. Law enforcement identified 34-year-old Dartoe as the primary suspect and tracked him out of state, leading to his arrest and extradition back to Fargo.
Are there witnesses or neighbors who recall seeing anyone enter or leave the building that afternoon?
